Abstract
A 4x4 TDM MIMO radar sensor in the 77 GHz frequency band is presented, realized by cascading two System-on-Chip Radar transceivers manufactured in a 22 nm FDX CMOS technology. A sparse antenna array is used to achieve high angle estimation resolution in azimuth, and a joint sequence velocity solver is implemented to increase the unambiguous velocity range limited by TDM transmit antenna switching. The range, velocity and angle measurement capabilities of the sensor are validated in an anechoic chamber using a target simulator.
